"TellTales" is both an improvisation format and a show which combined
improvisation and new writing, presented by The Spontaneity Shop in November 2003.
The "rules" of the TellTales format are that only one improviser is on
stage at any one time. Through a series of monologues, the audience is introduced
to a series of characters whose lives gradually intertwine and affect each other.
For the November show, a series of unrelated scripted monologues (including the
London premiere of "Mr Sock" by award-winning playwright Peter Morris) was followed
by a 45 minute improvised play using the TellTales format.
