HOW MANY PEOPLE?

The basic template for our work is the workshop situation - one trainer per group of 8-16 people in a large empty room, with a chair for each person and a few spares. A workshop would typically last one six-hour day (plus an hour for lunch), or for one half day, although both shorter and longer (multi-day) sessions are not unknown.

Around twelve is probably the best number. If there are fewer than eight attendees then people can feel a little 'exposed'. Often people want to hide in the pack early on and we believe in coaxing people out of their comfort zones, rather than shoving them rudely and hoping they survive.

If there are more than 16, then it becomes very difficult to give personal feedback. This is not necessarily disastrous - people will learn a lot by watching as well as doing and we can set some exercises to be done in pairs or small groups - but, especially for work on Charisma, there is a limit to what can be achieved.

Obviously, this varies somewhat from workshop to workshop. Thee Cake Factor, for example, is largely about thinking and listening, and could easily be delivered seminar-style to a large group. We also use aspects of both The Creativity Key and The Charisma Key in our events work, where we demonstrate and talk about the ideas to large audiences. At the other end of the scale, we also offer one-to-one charisma coaching where one trainer and one trainee meet regularly for one or two hours at a time.

With either a very small or a very large group, we will sometimes recommend an assistant trainer at a reduced price to either make up numbers or keep an eye on the group and make sure that no-one is getting left behind.

Our charging mechanism is based on our time, not on the number of people trained, so - while we are happy to advise - we leave it up to our clients to determine what combination of trainers, attendees and time makes the most sense for them. We are also happy to give discounts for high-volume orders.
