THE CREATIVITY KEY

Given a potentially creative task, most people will unconsciously select the strategy which seems to them to be the safest, or withdraw because they label themselves "unimaginative". By substituting more rewarding strategies, The Creativity Key allows people to discover the pleasure that can be had in creating, summoning up fearless innovation and combining it with business acumen.

This training session takes the form of a workshop lasting from 3 to 6 hours and can be tailored to emphasise innovation in teams, brainstorms, or working alongside clients.

During the session, the trainer addresses the anxiety which many people feel about creative endeavours and begins to change attitudes to failure. In Spontaneity Shop workshops, any responsibility for failure lies with the trainer, and we point out that if everybody succeeds at everything the first time, it means the workshop was too easy and nobody learned anything.

Through this approach, people relax more and take some of the pressure off themselves. Their personal talents begin to emerge from behind the wall of anxiety and overly high expectations.

Ideas become abundant rather than an endangered species; getting them begins to feel more like catching snowflakes than pulling teeth.

Participants leave the session with a new range of tools to influence their own approach to innovation and that of their teams. They are encouraged to start changing their behaviour, to observe the result and then to report back.

Brain Hurricane

As a follow-on to The Creativity Key, or in its own right, we can run a brainstorm for you, using a real business problem faced by the group. Instead of being an "ideas firing squad" - executing suggestions as they pop up - our trainer will take the group through exercises that create a positive feedback scenario for every idea and remove the paralysis brought on by fear of negative judgment.

By focusing on something "next to the problem" rather than the problem itself the group accesses its instinctive responses and avoids the swamp of "thinking up ideas". The range of options available at the end of the session is more extensive, more accessible and more varied than before – and the process of creating them is fun.

We also offer follow-up sessions for each participant and the teams they run and manage.

The Creativity Key can unleash the individual creativity of the people in your team, instead of keeping them sticking rigidly to the "safe path". Can you afford not to employ fearless innovators?
