Deborah Frances-White and Tom Salinsky formed the Spontaneity Shop in 1997 to
develop new forms of comedy improvisation in London. Since then Tom has performed
and taught all over the world and recently made a television pilot for ITV.
Tom studied improvisation with Patti Stiles and Keith Johnstone. While still a student, he was writing for BBC Radio 4's "Week Ending" and he was later the editor of the satirical website The Brains Trust. He has written a great deal of corporate comedy for The Spontaneity Shop, including sketches, speeches, song lyrics and monologues.
He has taught improvisation at RADA, the Actors Centre at the National Youth Theatre as well as internationally. He is currently directing the Spontaneity Shop workshop programme which was the origin of all our current training work.
He and Deborah originally created the highly successful Creativity Key and Charisma Key programmes at The Spontaneity Shop, and Tom also developed our storytelling for business strand. This provides a number of tools for professional people to incorporate story techniques when structuring, writing and delivering presentations of all kinds.
Tom is equally happy delivering engaging interactive seminars to large audiences, workshopping with small groups on developing skills or coaching individuals to develop their clarity of expression, charismatic presence and creative skills.
His clients include Harrods, Betfair, Catalysis, and Deloitte.
“Good fun, thought provoking and I know everyone else enjoyed it too. I've been recommending the training to all my colleagues and friends.” - PR Agency
