Deborah Frances-White and Tom Salinsky formed the Spontaneity Shop in 1997 to
develop new forms of comedy improvisation in London. Since then Deborah has performed
and taught all over the world and recently made a television pilot for ITV, for
which she acted as host.
Deborah studied improvisation with Patti Stiles and Keith Johnstone. She won a Cameron Mackintosh Award as a playwright while still at Oxford University and recently sold a romantic comedy screenplay to a Hollywood studio (Fox Searchlight).
She has performed at the Hackney Empire, the RSC Summer House, the PIT New York, The Atheneum Chicago, and in theatres and comedy clubs across London and in LA, Amsterdam, New Zealand and Paris. She regularly features on BBC Radio and is currently putting together a new impro show for Hat Trick Television.
She has written and performed two full-length solo comedy shows at The Edinburgh Festival and will be touring this year's show in the spring.
As a corporate trainer, motivational speaker and facilitator, she is in high demand by major financial institutions, technology companies, public bodies and hotel chains.
Deborah developed The Spontaneity Shop's Charisma Coaching programme and counts Unilever, IBM, UBS and the NSPCC among her clients.
“Good fun, thought provoking and I know everyone else enjoyed it too. I've been recommending the training to all my colleagues and friends.” - PR Agency
