- How long have you worked with The Spontaneity Shop?
- For about four years, but for at least three of those years, I didn't consider it work. Not like now...
- What do you love about improvising?
- The rock and roll life.
- What's your favourite ever improv memory?
- Chris Harvey John playing Mr Collier, the boy with no first name.
- You're an actor as well. What are your favourite ever acting jobs?
- Proof in Vienna. Not only was it a great play to do, it's where I was introduced to improv and where I formed my band, Piefinger.
- You were in Doctor Who recently. Do Doctor Who fans ever recognise you in the street or write you fan mail?
- No, people don't recognize me in the street. But it's nice that my friends recognize me now. It was getting embarrassing every time I turned up to a party. And I've had Billie Piper's fan mail re-routed to me. She's got more than she can handle and it makes me feel loved.
- You guarded the last Dalek. Do you ever worry it'll come and find you in the night and finish you off?
- No, it's a TV show.
- Are you, by any chance, in a band?
- Yes, I already told you that.
- Can we go on a mailing list to find out about your gigs?
- You're already on the mailing list. Stop pretending you don't know me.
- Do you have an album we can buy?
- What did you do with the one I already sold you?
- When will you next be on the telly?
- Why are you asking me all these questions? I feel very on the spot. You're not thinking of publishing this are you? I thought we were just having a conversation. Hold on, who is this? Is this Dave from Blockbusters? I told you. I don't. Have. Your box set. Of Last of The Summer Wine. And anyway, even if i did, I wouldn't give it back until you admitted you are not one of the original writers. You're 29. And you work in Blockbusters.
Oh, hold on, I've just reread this... Boy do I feel stupid. Ok, I'll next be on the telly in the summer on BBC1 ("one" means good, right?), in a thing called Superstorm. I play a computer genius. Me push buttons.
